Prayer at Unity of the Oaks

Welcome to the Heart of Unity - Prayer.
We know that lives are transformed by the power of prayer. Prayer is our direct line of communication with God through which we can ask His guidance and support with our deepest concerns and needs or simply express our thankfulness for the many blessings in our lives. When we pray our hearts are lifted and our burdens become lighter as we call upon God's infinite, compassionate and loving wisdom to guide our hearts and minds.

We invite you to join with our Prayer Ministers as they hold your prayer requests in daily prayer. We are dedicated to "keeping a high watch" for each prayer request that we receive. A prayer request box is available at our church. Once your prayer request is received, it will be place in our prayer box and prayed over for 30 days and then sent to Silent Unity (www.silentunity.org) for another 30 days. Your prayer requests are always kept in strict confidence.

Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Meditation

Just as prayer is how we talk to God, meditation is how we listen to God and allow God to talk to us. When we meditate, we take our hearts and minds inward. We put aside our own preconceived notions and actively reflect upon God's Word, Instructions and Works so that we may receive His answers to our prayers and know His will for our lives. By meditating on God's truths, maybe by studying the scriptures, reading devotionals or singing songs of praise, we make ourselves open and ready to receive His guidance and the goodness of God's peace, love and prosperity.

The Daily Word is available as a spiritual resource for a daily affirming thoughts and inspiring messages.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
